Chemistry A/B

This course is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in understanding matter and energy and their relationship. Examples of specific area of study include atomic structure, chemical bonding, elements and compounds, chemical reactions, acid-base chemistry and organic chemistry. A major portion of class time is devoted to laboratory work used to explore chemical properties and processes. The practical application of chemical principles to everyday life is woven throughout the course. This course is very important for students going on to college or considering a technical career. Chemistry provides a vital foundation of knowledge important in order to understand any branch of science dealing with matter, both inorganic and organic.
