Need based aid is dependent on your family's financial situation. To apply for need based aid, you begin by filling the FAFSA form online (after Jan. 1 of the year you will enter college) You can also use the estimator function at the FAFSA website to get an idea of what your estimated family contribution might be. 

 

The FSA ID is your electronic passport to federal student aid online. This has replaced the former "Pin" for students.  Students, parents, and borrowers are required to use an FSA ID made up of a username and password to access certain US Department of Education websites.  Your FSA ID is used to confirm your identity when accessign your financial aid information and electronically signing your federal aid documents.
