Monitoring the Cal-Wood Fire

Dear St. Vrain Valley Community,

We have been closely monitoring the Cal-Wood Fire, in partnership with the Boulder Office of Emergency Management and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, as the fire spread and evacuation areas are impacting several areas within our district community. Firefighting crews have done an outstanding job working to contain the northern and eastern spread of the fire, but we know that wildfires can be unpredictable and we must remain vigilant and prepared for any changes to the fire’s activity.

Safety is paramount for our students, teachers, staff, and community, and we strongly encourage families to closely follow the Boulder Office of Emergency Management recommendations regarding fire safety and evacuation alerts. Community resources and additional information about the Cal-Wood Fire can be found at https://www.boulderoem.com/emergency-status

Our hearts go out to anyone who has been impacted by this terrible event. Please know that we will continue to work closely with local and state authorities to provide whatever assistance is necessary to support our families and community. We will continue to update you as new information becomes available that impacts our schools. If you have questions or need support during this time, please feel free to contact me directly or your school principal.

Sincerely,
Don Haddad, Ed.D.

Sinceramente,
Don Haddad, Ed.D.
