Incoming high school students are invited to join St. Vrain Valley Schools at one of two upcoming open house events to learn more about industry certification opportunities, career and technical education training, and more.

St. Vrain’s Senior Volunteer Program Enters Seventh Year

The St. Vrain Valley Schools’ Senior Volunteer Program is once again available for the 2018-2019 school year. The program began in November 2012 to welcome seniors and individuals with disabilities into our schools and provide them financial assistance with their county property taxes. Up to 200 participants will be paid a maximum of 40 hours at $11.10 per hour for a total of $444 between January 2, 2019 and April 30, 2019.

High Schools Launch Annual Fall Theater Performances

St. Vrain high school students across the district have spent countless hours during and after school in preparation for their school's fall theater production. Watch our students' showcase their talent and hard work. Performances are open to the public and community members are encouraged to attend.

CU brings astronomy lessons, portable planetarium to Frederick High School

CU students spent Tuesday at Frederick High School, teaching astronomy lessons and leading presentations in an inflatable planetarium.

They covered astrobiology, black holes and how scientists find planets outside the solar system, along with giving students a tour of the cosmos in the planetarium.

Accidents happen! The SVVSD Optional iPad Insurance Program for secondary students covers many of the costs associated with a damaged or lost iPad.  This year, the cost has been lowered to $25 AND includes new levels of coverage.  Plus, students who opt into insurance this year will be able to exchange a non-functioning cable for a new one at no cost! Schools Recognized with USDA's HealthierUS School Challenge Awards

In May of 2016, Nutrition Services and School Wellness applied for USDA’s HealthierUS School Challenge awards for all of our middle schools and high schools that participate in the National School Breakfast and National School Lunch program.

The HealthierUS School Challenge: Smarter Lunchrooms is a voluntary certification initiative that recognizes schools creating healthier school environments through promotion of nutrition and physical activity.

Of the approximately 55 million K-12 aged children in the United States, it is estimated that 90 percent are enrolled in public schools. Second only to parenting, the longstanding institution of public education will have the greatest influence on America’s future.
