Dear 2020 Seniors and Families,
As mentioned in our email on June 30th, I would like to provide some specific details related to our graduation ceremony that will be held on July 25th at 9:00am at Frederick’s Warrior Stadium.
We have been working closely with our county and state health departments on plans for an enjoyable and safe graduation event. Following the guidance from Boulder County Public Health (BCPH) we must practice these safety and social distancing requirements.
-
All graduates, families, and staff will wear face coverings when entering and exiting the stadium and during any transitions within the ceremony We have ordered special masks for our graduates to wear that celebrate their school pride.
-
Due to strict county health agency restrictions, all seating will be assigned at this year’s graduation and graduates will sit on the field with their two household guests. All household groups will be spaced a minimum of 12 feet apart. This spacing allows for the movement of graduates during the ceremony.
-
We ask that any students, staff, or family members who are exhibiting symptoms of any illness to remain at home.
-
Students and staff will arrive in the graduation robes and caps.
-
Per county health agency regulations, congregating before or after the ceremony will not be permitted on district property.
-
We will not be able to hold a practice ceremony. We will go over the procedures with graduates when they arrive on Saturday.
Please review the following information carefully and note the guidelines we have to follow in order to hold our large, in-person, graduation ceremony.
Tickets:
-
Each graduate will receive 3 tickets. Due to some available space, we have added one guest per family plus the two that were originally communicated. Now there will be up to 3 guests and a graduate sitting together for a total of 4.
-
Seating assignments were randomly assigned
-
Tickets will be available for pickup between 8am – 3pm on Wednesday, July 22nd in the east drop off lane. Please make arrangements to have someone from your family pick up your tickets during this window of time. If you cannot come during this window, please contact us to make other arrangements.
-
Graduates will also get their masks during this time.
We will be implementing the following entry procedures to help ensure social distancing:
-
Guests must enter their assigned gate at their assigned time.
-
Guests with white tickets will enter through the North West gate
-
Guests with blue tickets will enter through the North Central Gate (ticket booth entrance)
-
Guests with gold tickets will enter through the North East gate
-
Guests, last names A – L to arrive from 8:00 – 8:25
-
Guests, last names M – Z to arrive from 8:25 – 8:50
We will be implementing the following dismissal procedures to help ensure social distancing:
-
Graduates will be escorted out the south side of the field back to the staging area
-
Guests will be ushered out by rows through the same gate they entered
-
Guests and graduates will not be allowed to congregate after the ceremony.
Parking:
-
Graduates should park in the West Parking Lot
-
Guests should park in the main East Lot. Please park near the gate you are assigned.
Please do not bring umbrellas, balloons, large signs, tents, or canopies. Those items will obstruct the views of those sitting behind you and will not be allowed into the ceremony. Noise makers, bells, air horns, etc.. are also not allowed during the ceremony as they will take away from the positive experience of the others who are present.
Live Streaming:
-
The ceremony will be livestreamed on our youtube channel. Please share this link with family and friends to watch the ceremony.

Cap decorating is allowed as long as it is school appropriate and does not protrude or hang over the cap. (two dimensional only). Send a photo of your cap to: http://stvra.in/celebrate2020 so we can celebrate all of the fun decorations.
-
Dress in semi-formal clothing, this includes but is not limited to: pants, nice dress/skirt, collared shirt (necktie is optional), nice shoes or sandals. (no flip flops, no shorts, no t-shirts, and no blue jeans)
-
Only approved graduation regalia may be worn during the ceremony. No additional cords, pins, or accessories may be displayed during the ceremony
We have finally received our gray cords for students who have been in SVVSD since kindergarten. If you are a graduate who has been in St. Vrain Valley Schools since kindergarten please let us know if you have earned this cord so we can look at your records. This cord will be handed out during the ticket pickup window. We are sorry for the delay in getting these cords, but FHS is the only school that does this cord and it will be phased out in the future as all district schools will be consistent with graduation regalia moving forward.
If you have any questions, please contact the school at 303-833-3533. Again, thank you for your partnership as we work together to honor our Class of 2020. I am incredibly proud of these students and look forward to celebrating this momentous occasion with our community.
Sincerely,
Brian Young
Principal
