EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

I am thrilled to join the Golden Eagles at Frederick High! I earned my PhD in Education and Literacy Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder. I also have a BA in English Literature from the University of Tampa and an MA in Comparative Literary Studies and Criticism from Goldsmiths University of London. I started my teaching career with the Americorps National Service program, and it remains one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Following, I taught High School English for many years at international schools in Turkey and Panama. At Frederick, I teach 9th Grade English Language Arts, AP Lang/Concurrent Enrollment College Composition, and Creative Writing. I also continue to teach pre-service teachers as an adjunct professor in the Secondary Humanities licensure program at CU Boulder.

OUT OF SCHOOL FUN

I love sharing this life with my partner Lucas, my two kids Kaya and Luca, and our dog Ida by spending time outdoors, eating good food, and traveling. I also enjoy doing yoga, reading, spending time with friends and family, or kicking back with a good series or film.
