EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Mr. Marsing started in 2021 as a part of the team here at Frederick High School teaching U.S. History, World Studies and advising Frederick's award winning student-led broadcast program, the Golden Eagle Broadcast Network. Prior to joining FHS, he student taught at Longmont High School and worked with seventh graders at Edna and John W. Mosley P-8 in Aurora Public Schools. He holds an Associates degree from Front Range Community College, a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Colorado, Denver, where he graduated with distinction, and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado, Boulder (#skobuffs). Mr. Marsing brought varied experiences into his education career. He worked in government as a legislative aide in the Colorado State Senate and spent three years in sports media and journalism covering the Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Buffaloes, and Arkansas Razorbacks. He firmly believes in advocating for academic and personal development of each and every student who comes into his classroom, focusing on care and empathy for the whole student, and supporting them however he can. His student centered approach was recognized in 2023 when he was selected as Frederick High's Teacher of the Year by the St. Vrain Valley Education Foundation.
OUT OF SCHOOL FUN
During the rare moments when he's not at FHS, Mr. Marsing can be found spending time at home in Longmont with his wife Becca, sons Teddy and Luke, and dog Eddie and getting out and involved in the community. He loves traveling, spending time in the summer at his family cabin in the mountains above Allenspark, and playing guitar poorly.
